The National Follow-up Center after Chernobyl Liquidators (Clean-up teams)Under a law passed by the Israeli government, all people approved by a committee of the Ministry for Immigrants Absorption as Liquidators (clean-up teams after the 1986 accident at the nuclear site in Chernobyl) are eligible for an annual medicine evaluation. The evaluation of some 1,500 people, identified as liquidators, is carried out at the NICCC. Eligible people are invited to perform a variety of blood tests, and provide medical status letter from their general practitioner as well as the results of an ophthalimic test when they appear at the evaluation center.
